1 Data Controller
This Privacy Policy applies to the SherlockGames mobile app, developed and operated by SherlockGames ("we", "the app"). You can reach us at destek@sherlock.4dalyo.com with any questions or requests.
2 No Account, Anonymous Identity
SherlockGames does not create an account tied to your email address, phone number, or real name. On first launch, the app generates a random, device-specific anonymous identifier and uses it to remember your progress, scores, and ranking position. If you uninstall and reinstall the app, this identifier — and your progress with it — is lost.
3 Data You Provide Yourself
The display name and avatar you choose in Settings; the yes/no questions you ask in each case; the hints you request; the solution guesses you submit. We recommend not including personal information (your real name, contact details, etc.) in this text — none of it is needed for the game to work.
4 Third-Party AI Processor: OpenAI
This section matters. The questions you ask and the solution guesses you submit are sent to the third-party AI provider OpenAI so it can act as the judge. OpenAI processes this text only to generate a response. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in your questions or guesses — anything you type is transmitted to this third party.
5 Gameplay Data
Your sessions, scores, question counts, solve streaks, and leaderboard entries are stored on our servers (PostgreSQL), associated with your anonymous identifier.
6 Analytics and Crash Reports
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app usage and catch errors. You can turn this collection off at any time from the Settings → Privacy screen.
7 Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, a device-specific Firebase Cloud Messaging token is stored on our servers; it is used only to send you notifications such as a daily case reminder. Notifications can be turned off from Settings.
8 Free Usage and Premium
Your premium status, your daily free-puzzle-start counter, and records of rewarded ads you've watched are kept on our servers so we can enforce the correct limits.
9 Retention and Location
Your data is stored on our servers hosted on Hetzner infrastructure (within the European Union). We retain data for as long as your identifier remains active, plus a reasonable period required by our legal obligations.
10 Your Rights (Turkish DPL Art. 11 / GDPR)
Under Turkey's Law on Protection of Personal Data (KVKK) and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, restrict its processing, and object to processing. You can send these requests to destek@sherlock.4dalyo.com. You can also delete your own local/remote progress data yourself from Settings → Reset Stats in the app.
11 Children
SherlockGames is not designed for users under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

13 Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we will let you know in-app or by updating the "last updated" date on this page.
